How do I report an imposter profile?

In order to assist with the removal of an imposter profile we will require a salute to verify identity.

To make a salute:

1. Write the Myspace URL on a piece of paper, for example http://www.myspace.com/0000000 or http://www.myspace.com/TodayonMyspace). If you do not have a Myspace profile, write the email address you are sending the salute from.

2. Take a photo holding the paper in front of you (right side up, please). Make sure there's a clear view of your face.

3. Click here to Contact Myspace, be sure to attach your salute and make sure the image file is under 4MB.

4. In the space provided please let us know which profile you would like removed.

Notes and Tips

• If you don't have a camera, consider using a cell phone camera, or using your own or a friend's Web cam to take a photo.

• The salute picture must be in full color (no Sepia, black and white, etc.).

• No one else can be in your salute picture with you (unless this is for a band or artist profile).

• You must be able to see you holding the salute in the photo you submit (in other words, we want to see your hands holding the Salute with a clear view of your face; no Photoshop).

• You MUST have a photo in your Myspace profile that clearly shows your face.

• The salute must be hand-written (we cannot accept typed salutes).

• Salutes cannot be submitted by posting them to your Myspace profile and sending us a link.

• Myspace will never ask you to submit a video or webcam salute, so if you get an email message or Myspace message asking you to do so, please let us know at once!

usually you find myspace are very quick to respond to sucj threats on the whole. though im sorry to hear about it.

I dont even have a Myspace profile. but there is an imposter profile out there with my name. And all kinds of wild accusations. Im being slandered left and right on this imposter profile. The person who made the page even says on the page that hes not me but he made it to talk about me and figure out a way to find me. This is creating all types of problems in my life. i have contacted myspace which has done nothing to resolve the situation. I even took a salut with my state issued drivers license to prove i am me. I would greatly appreciate some help here. I need it.

My ex-boyfriend made a imposter myspace profile with no display pic but on the page its a topless picture of me, but i jus found out last night and I did the salute thing lik myspace said and i reported the picture. How long do you think its going to for myspace to delete the profile because its really hurting me beacuse nothing like this ever happen to me! && The bad thing is I have a real myspace & a facebook but there private so dont none of my picture show up on google but when i type in my 1st and last name on google the topless picture of me appears because its public so when myspace delete the profile that will be gone too right?? Wish I could get some help for MY situation because I need it! I really, REALLY need it!

I am the new editor for an online university publication, www.kalamakua.org, and someone mentioned that there is a MySpace account which claims to be associated with our publication (even uses our logo!) and has made friends with over 60 people.

I am unable to reach Tom to address this problem and I would like to know what is necessary to get this corrected. I am willing to make a police report, but would rather have the matter handled internally and avoid pursuing a criminal case.
